Had a brilliant meeting yesterday at Little Sister to be part of a charity-led event this summer cooking with other chefs and working with local produce as well as recovered food to promote food security. The contact who reached out offered to meet me literally in my kitchen, was super transparent about the event planning, looked like they had their shit together, and most importantly: wasn’t asking me to donate my resources without allowing me full participation like the super-cliquey Farmfresh RI did to me last year (I go into more detail in this essay).
The group is called Feed RI and the event will take place this August. I’ll post more details when ticket sales open, so you can come and support (and taste my awesome food)!
