With respect, by your logic none of us are independent thinking entities. Like AI, we have all been trained through inputs/outputs from our parents, teachers, friends, and society at large. There are two things us humans have that AI does not: 1) instinctual 'loss functions' (eating, sleeping, reproducing, etc.), and 2) a hive mind (8 billion and counting little AIs). Point number 2 is the best defense we have against potential rogue AI.
