too bad indeed! and i would say the follow up hasn't been great. i have two friends, a married couple, who volunteered as subjects in the moderna trials. they really believe that the technology will have a great role in cancer treatment in the future. i disagree but... anyway, the husband was in the treatment arm and the wife was in the control group. after two months, the study was unblinded and the wife was offered the vaccine, which she happily took. the husband was so freaked out by the idea of covid that, as soon as he was able, he got himself two pfizer shots on top of his two moderna ones. right off the bat, shouldn't that disqualify him as a test subject? in june 2021, the wife and her friend from out west came to stay with us for a week. after they left, they continued their vacation and both came down with what was probably Delta. they were both really sick. the wife went to moderna for blood work (they never told her what variant she had) and they gave her no advice at all. the friend, a single woman, unvaccinated with no health insurance, living on a hobby farm, took some of her horse paste and was better the next day. the couple again came to stay with us for new year's 2022 bringing her son and daughter in law from london (both vaccinated) and her unvaccinated mother from the mid west. after they left, they all got omicron except for the mother. i think the wife has had a booster and she was planning on the bi-valent in spite of my urging against it.
