So, if one lets terrorists operate out of their proverbial house, they shouldn’t be shocked when the authorities come down on them and theirs, like a ton of bricks.
This whole idea that is running amok on the Internet, that Gazans are not associated with Hamas and are in fact being oppressed by them (Hamas was elected after all, and NPR [of all rags] published a piece in 2021 that they would hold a majority in palestinian parliament if an election is ever held again) is questionable to me. It smacks of the same Leftist nonsense that gets bandied about when talking about almost any minority group- that they are just incapable of dealing with anything on their own which is why they need a snowflake savior to come in and help them out. You all know what I’m talking about. I guess it never occurred to them that the majority of palestinians approve of Hamas. That’s a problem isn’t it?
When you allow evil to operate in your backyard, you are probably going to wind up getting hurt. But that’s what happens when people hate other groups so much that they sacrifice themselves and even their own children, rather than live in peace with the group they hate. This is not confined to this conflict. It’s present in almost all conflicts.
As an aside, on the Left it is unacceptable to “hate speak” towards some groups, but Jews, rednecks, and old people are fair game. I believe that’s called hypocrisy.
