As a matter of fact, David Graeber's essay "Manners, Deference, and Private Property" examines the Puritans in a case study in hierarchy, based on three works by Hill as well as several others. "Manners" and its bibliography are a good starting point for further reading on political Puritanism. I consulted TWTUD about social formation before properly reading it, but it seems to contain a helping of good and interesting research.
