Whenever anybody gives me that, I tell them the story about how the hospital didn't require them when my son was delivered in september. 48 hours roaming around the mother baby side, and even a visit to the 'transition' area of the nicu(nothing wrong with baby just a stupid nurse), only wore a mask in the OR. That story with a little light incredulousness usually makes them feel pretty silly at the eye doctor or whoever.
