No borders were set or inherited from Day 1. The US only had 13 east coast colonies to start with, so does Mexico have a right to reclaim CA, AZ and TX from the US now? China did have many dynasties with internal and external wars, but very few instances of “middle China” going out to invade neighboring countries/states the way Rome did with Carthage/Greece/Gaul/Macedon, Spain with South America, or Japan with Korea/China/South East Asia. In fact, China’s border expanded historically because China was repeatedly conquered by northern nomads, and over time those nomads assimilated and became “Chinese”. What you call today “China” is actually 2,000 years of cultural and linguistic mix between agricultural civilization that originated in middle China and nomads from Mongolian Stepps, and continued migration from mid China to South of Yangtze River. It’s just inaccurate and disingenuous to spin that into some type of “war and expansion”.
