While Mahbubani seems like a smart guy, totally agree his views are way too rosy toward the CCP. There are plenty structural problems with CCP’s governance, lack of rule of law, no clear guidelines, lack of incentives for bureaucrats given lack of compensation and enormous personal risks which push them either to do nothing or toward massive corruptions. Mahbubani doesn’t seem objective in failing recognizing both sides of the coin.
