you are mistaking the elimination of measles contraction with a public good.
before the vaccine became widespread, everyone got measles, and almost no-one ever died from it anymore, and then everyone had lifelong immunity from the disease, as long as it continued to circulate in the population, ensuring that everyone got a natural 'booster' exposure every decade or so.
this meant that babies were almost always protected by their mothers for the first period after birth and then their systems were obviously also primed to develop a proper immune response to the exposure as a child.
mothers would make sure their children were exposed to measles at some point in their childhood and we had developed a prime relationship with this disease.
that's all lost now.
and perhaps permanently.
there are also positive correlations between natural measles exposures and heart health and many other relationships that we don't even start to understand.
medicine worked when it didn't assume it had the knowledge of good and evil, because it got that choice wrong.
I honestly believe there's a problem with not recognising that public health is a civil engineering achievement and not due to vaccines.
vaccines have caused untold damage, for what I believe the data really shows, no benefit.
