Hell, you could be correct. I spent 17 years in regulated medical devices, although that was a couple decades ago, so had my share of interaction with FDA as well. More recently, I have been reading history of vaccines and vaccine policy. (Additionally, I have exchanged interaction with the FDA for interaction with the FRA. I cannot escape!) The CDC, at least according to some, is more like "a vaccine distribution company" than a scientific agency. We could certainly debate *when* regulatory capture began in earnest, but likely, the exact when is less important than acknowledging that it is damned-near complete at this point, AFAIK.
