Does anybody think it is remotely possible that Xi Jinping will surprise everybody and turn up at COP26 after all? China is now very isolated in Glasgow. It is striking that Obama is coming next week. Could there be a bit of the old 2014 tea room magic? Since I am covering the meeting, I would love to know informed views. Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
