I agree with you, with one caveat. Our medical system at large is just a bunch of monopolistic corporations disguised as individual doctors and hospitals. I live in Montana. We have, for the entire state, two systems to choose from, no matter where you are, one started in the state itself, which is horrid, and the other that is part of a nationwide conglomerate and is also horrid. 99.9% of all the doctors in the states are aligned with one of these two systems and relies on it for employment. You're not going to find much independent thought (nor courage) in a system like that.
