Thank you for your even handed attitude towards the current situation regarding feminist attitudes. I firmly believe that women and men can achieve equality of education and ability. Obviously intelligence levels amid both males and females are not the same for everyone. It astounds me that I am not a genius but alas I am not. Women are on the whole not as physically strong as men but physical strength is not the criteria by which ability can be judged. This case of a predatory woman pursuing a wealthy and famous man, even when he is disassociating himself from her in every way possible, should sound an alarm. Let us take a recent case that of the actor Johnny Depp and his wife Amber Heard and their divorce. She alleged that his treatment of her was abominable although he countered these allegations. The woman won her case for financial reparation. In the process she ruined his career. Fast forward and Mr. Depp manages to produce evidence of her appalling conduct and the lies she had told in court about him and wins an enormous sum. Why did the original mis carriage of justice occur, because the woman was thought to be the one who was suffering ill treatment at the hands of an uncaring man. I know that this is a fraught subject but rape and interference allegations need to be looked at carefully. In the sixties I knew a young woman who was persistently pursuing a married Italian barman. She flirted with him and being an Italian he flirted back with the width of the bar between them. She tried to contact him outside work but he was having none of it and his colleague began to serve her whenever she came into the bar. Then a bombshell. She accused him of dragging her into his car and raping her. After an investigation it transpired that she had jumped into his car and propositioned him. He asked her to get out of the car and when she wouldn’t he went around and pulled her out. She made her complaint two days after the incident. The mental anguish that man and his wife suffered was unbelievable. It was just lucky that a couple saw him pulling her out of his car and telling her to leave him alone. Rape is a serious and disgusting crime but it needs to be properly and fairly investigated. Women are not always good, not always truthful and not always right , exactly the same as men.
