The trouble is not the particular person at the top, it's the structure of governance and the willingness of the people to continue playing the game, it's that way in the US as well - and the "dignified" government - the elected one - does not truly rule, in both US and UK it's the "efficient" government - the Administrative State and those who own and direct it - which exercises actual power, Constitution and people be damned.
