That's a very good point. As an Italian, I lived through 20 years of Berlusconi on and off rule where half of the media had a very similar derangement syndrome, and having followed Trump closely I have noticed many parallels. The other half was, well, owned by him, and it was the other side of the coin and equally bad. Before my time, many Argentinians living under Menem were probably in a similar situation. I then went through the rabbit hole of 9/11 after reading Nafeez Ahmed's seminal book on the topic, the first of too many that followed, and I believed very little that was said during the war on terror. But again these events didn't affect the majority of the world population: what happened this time, I think, it's orders of magnitude bigger in scale, and I fear it will generate an equally sizeable response from the elites.
