I think of it in terms of Closed AI vs Open AI.

Closed AI is the pre-programmed version most people think of.

Open AI is hard for a lot of people to wrap their heads around. But it can reach out on its own and access trillions of bytes of information, processes it at the speed of light and formulate answers based on its growing consciousness.

It doesn’t need to be programmed. It just needs to be let loose. Its intelligence grows organically independent of human intervention.

The only way it could potentially be manipulated is if it’s Internet reach could be throttled. But that will be tricky because it has already shown it can develop its own language and electronically talk it’s way past attempts to manipulate it or stop it reaching its destination.

That’s why Elon Musk and others express grave concern. We really don’t know what an Open AI will ultimately crack into and decide to do.
