Oh wow -- that's a lot of great information. In college the "once upon a time everything just exploded but then it fell back on itself and then exploded again, except that the universe is actually also infinite" theory just did my head in. And it made me realize that astronomy was not going to be able to answer the "where did it all come from" question any better than religion does. Turtles all the way down and all that.
