Religion itself creates some ugly behaviour. Christianity has, for sure. Jews were not more bloodthirsty than anyone else when they lived in Europe. But Europe wanted to be rid of the Jews. Wanted them out of Europe. So the Brits gave the Jews Palestine because they wanted the Jews out of Europe. Zionism has been created by a lot of other players, including some Jews, of course. There are many Zionists who aren't Jewish, but Christian. I have not been to Israel, but I have heard others speak about the racism and cruelty toward Palestinians that is there. Jews are no more vulnerable to cult like behaviour than anyone else. It has been convenient for the west to have the Jews in Israel rather than in Europe. It has been convenient for the US Empire to have them there too because then the US has more access to the middle east. I have seen racist behaviour everywhere I have lived. I have lived in several European countries and Canada. I have seen mistreatement of people because of their race, their skin colour, their religion, their class, their gender or gender identitiy. Yes, many Jews are brainwashed into Zionism. But others are brainwashed into thinking that it is better to be rich and if a few suffer, that is just collateral damage. And many are brainwashed to think that Christianity is the way to go.

The mess that is now Israel was not created only by Jews. It was created by many players and it does not say much good about humanity at all. Maybe capitalism is more to blame if we are looking for somewhere to place blame. Right now we have the privilege of watching Donald Trump and Elon Musk along with their cohorts work on destroying the US government and making the lives of working class Americans miserable. They are threatening Greenland, China, Europe. I think, Roslyn, your analysis is shallow and antisemitic in this instance.
