I don't think it is just people who consider themselves superior that is the problem. Part of the problem is that other less wealthy, less powerful people also consider them superior. It is not really an us and them problem. It is an all of us problem. Clearly, destroying the planet means that we all suffer, no matter how big our bank accounts, what kind of car we drive, how big our houses are or any of that. If the planet dies, we die. Period.
