First of all it is not the boomers who were called the Greatest Generation, but our parents; and secondly, your history ignores the reality that when the boomers were young, the older generation was wringing its hands that we wanted peace, love and marijuana instead of three piece suits and corporate offices. Nut enough of us had marinated in TV--I agree with you on that bit, and thank my mother for the hundredth time that I was an exception. When the hippie dream soured, and they had kids to support, most reverted to what their parents, the Greatest Generation people wanted them to be.
