It isn't 450 days straight. Remember--there was a prior ceasefire with prisoner exchange, during which Israel hardly bombed the people, got some of the hostages in return for 50 times as many Palestinian political prisoners (still the Israelis got a higher percentage of their hostages back). Then they resumed the attacks and arrested thousands of new and old prisoners. Hamas is giving up its only bargaining chip.
