Very interesting how (3) jibes with (2). The Meituan investigation is reminding me of the UK Supreme Court's ruling on Uber drivers, the Deliveroo strikes, and even the Amazon unionization drive in the US. Will be interesting to see if some in China try to position China as a global leader on labor rights, especially in the gig economy. However, that could provide ammunition for politicians (especially in the US) to fight these drives with the old China/communism bogeyman rhetoric.
