I think that you are correct in that there is a lot of reactionary stuff. The nuance (as usual) is lost. People forget that these two things can exist together: You can be horrified by the actions of Hamas and think Israel has every single right to exist and be safe and STILL worry deeply about the humans and animals in Gaza. These two things should not be mutually exclusive but here we are.
