Language is tricky... whether containment of China happens or is possible depends on what you mean by it. If you mean that China stops growing entirely, of course that is impossible (didn't happen either with the USSR). If you define it as measures designed to balance/blunt/slow down the growth of Chinese power in various areas - well we have been doing that for awhile and will continue to do so.
