Not sure I understand your argument. The US is not looking for a military conflict, especially given that the status quo as it is now is very favorable for the US.

However, should China invade TW, the US will certainly act, and quite forcefully. As for TSMC, that only reinforces the argument that the US will step in.

Not sure why you are so sure the US will just roll over; all indications so far suggest that is not the case
