Triggering events requires "dry grass". I don't think the "dry grass" is there for a real civil war (there is no easy regional split between Red and Blue America, the differences within Red or Blue America are vast that it's unlikely they would coalesce into something as dramatic and unified as a revolution, economic interdependency, etc etc

The war between Red and Blue America are nasty words and political moves, the same as it always has been for most of American history
