My appeal:

Hi, 

I would like to appeal for my account to be restored. 

I recognize that my recent activity has been received as going against community guidelines. 

Although I do not have specifics, I can only guess it is based on my most recent content. I want to share that The information I shared recently about certain groups (black, lgbt) are about communities I am also part of, so I believe this was a misunderstanding about my intentions. It was never my intention to offend or hurt anyone, and never will be. 

Either way, I have reviewed IG community guidelines and promise not to violate them in the future. This is the first time I have received any such strike on IG. 

I will be more mindful about what I share on Instagram moving forward. Just to be sure this never happens again, I will no longer use Instagram as my prime space to share my perspective on social and political issues which affect my community. 

My most pressing concern is that my linked Facebook account is now inaccessible, which affects my self-employed activities. All of my business pages are on Instagram, including a facebook page I made for my film on black women in civil rights. This is tragic for me, as it impedes my income. 

I do not believe Instagram sacrificing my livelihood over a misstep is the way forward, especially when I am part of the marginalized communities it claims to protect. 

I would like to regain access to my accounts as soon as possible. I would like to have a second chance. Thank you. 🙏🏾
