WALK versus TALK. Controlling narratives, discourse power, important as they may be, fall into the category of Talk. Talk (values) contradicted by Walk won’t have legs. If the US wants to keep pace with China, it will have to improve its Walk, set a far better example than it has thus far, stop instigating / exacerbating conflicts for example.
