Clyde- I think you need to consider that the Taiwanese themselves might put up a fight and if so, TSMC would almost certainly become a casualty. Indeed, even if the U.S. did not actively engage militarily it might secretly see to the destruction of TSMC to prevent it falling into Beijing's hands.
