Clyde Prestowitz- I am pretty old and do remember the names. It would be logical for the CCP to start with them. But re selling the rope, experience to date seems to me to indicate that Lenin was wrong. Attitudes and policies in Taiwan over the past twenty years do not seem to have evolved in stronger favor of submitting to Beijing. Or have I missed something in my old age? One new development that may be portentous is the move of production by companies like TSMC out of Taiwan to other Free World locations.
