The key objective of Israel is to establish “facts on the ground” which can’t be reversed. Once all the Palestinians are either exterminated or expelled, and the threat of a Palestinian state is removed, Israelis will begin romanticising the Palestinian people and shall say “I wish our ancestors weren’t soo cruel to the poor Arabs. Oh well, it’s too late now. Let’s just build a monument to remember them so we don’t feel too bad about ourselves.”
