We're headed to high desert - Alpine/Fort Davis, near McDonald Observatory and Big Bend National Park. Mighty near the border and it's also near Marfa, which was long ago taken over by liberals, but seems like every other person in Alpine is a LEO of some sort - Border Patrol, Park Service, Fish and Game, retired cops, Texas Highway Patrol. In other words, the citizenry is made up of real sweet, friendly folks who are armed and dangerous. Plus there's cowboys, poetry, sushi, rhythm and blues, organic farmers, vineyards, and even a college (private, and not woke). Law and order, UFOs, wonderful weather and starry skies. Well, we like that.
