Hard agree. But they are more than monasteries of groupthink. They are the shock troops of eradicating wrongthink. Charles Murray is good on this. As he says some of the reviews of the Bell Curve could not be understood as misunderstandings of their intent, but as active distortions of the hard data they presented. As he noted, to the critics of the book, any discussion of group differences is absolutely unthinkable. It cannot be permitted in any form no matter how good the data.

What is that if not religious fanaticism? I mean those shutting down these discussions understand the data and the observations made by anthropologists are accurate. But they will not permit any discussion.

So I agree, we need hard blunt messages to wake people up.
