A few comments...

1) It never ceases to amaze me how many people say that they thought that Trump was only going to try to deport illegal aliens with criminal records. That was never going to satisfy the bloodlust of the Trumplicants. And how did they think that was going to work? Did they think that ICE was just going to hang around police stations and jails and grab people there? That wouldn’t get him nearly enough bodies. Deporting all illegal aliens is just about all Trump talked about during the campaign (that and how Biden “ruined” the great Trump economy).

I don’t know that anyone thought that they would be literally grabbing people off the streets. But no one should be surprised that it was going to be more than just criminal illegal aliens. And no one should be surprised that the wrong people are sometimes being arrested. You can’t do this so fast and with such big numbers without making lots of mistakes.

2) I didn’t really KNOW this until reading this article, but I figured all along that Trump had given ICE quotas. And that’s why they’re grabbing everyone they can get their hands on. They know if they grab the wrong person, they won’t get into trouble. But they will if they miss their quota. They’re just responding to the incentives.
