The Chinese coffee conversation proposal is still that they will take back Taiwan, inevitably but peacefully, within 5 years. Chinese enterprises are also preparing to minimize economic damage from inevitable sanctions e.g. by divesting any major assets that might be confiscated. They are assuming that there can and will be no military consequences.
