So many other causal factors are operating, in addition to COVID. Gun violence, suicide, drug overdoses, alcoholism, etc have a far larger impact than COVID, especially when you consider the demographics and age distribution of each causal factor, (e.g. gun violence, drug OD's, and suicide happen to much younger people than COVID deaths).
