I hope this is not serious - we can imagine what would happen as soon as the GOP returned to power (and in a two-party system the other party will always return to power!) Speaking as someone who finds right-wing conspiracy-mongering very damaging, I have no desire for our internet ecosystem to ever look like China's, because I understand that sooner or later the people I don't trust with this power will be back at the controls.
