Regarding the shocking news about PM Abe, I am profoundly grateful to see that the MFA appears to have enough institutional diplomatic sense left to engage in the usual diplomatic niceties, regardless of how glad they may be to see him gone. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, I was very concerned about the possible broader international fallout from a poorly-handled Wolf Warrior-style approach to this by the MFA.
