Baron d'Holbach’s claim that I was born an atheist, with no innate God concept, makes me wonder if my frail faith stems from nurture, not nature. Yet, I recall a toddler’s celestial vision - Wordsworth’s “glory and freshness of a dream” - suggesting an early intuition, like Blake’s heavenly host in the sun. Education and reason, which I cherish, may veil this, as Goya warns of monsters brought forth by the sleep of reason. My friend Dhiaa, a secular Muslim, once explained the Trinity to me via Rosselli’s painting of the nativity. He said faith comes as revelation, not from reason. I find faith odd, yet string theory feels as strange - perhaps I must unlearn to see God.
