Dozens of people were charged with hideous offences involving children, all of which in the end were deemed to have been fabricated.

I think the current trafficking moral panic stems from the confluence of some conservative Christians and left-wing feminists; both groups pressure their politicians to enforce harsh anti-trafficking legislation.
