The problem would be the same as with any well-funded organization- corruption of the original values is inevitable.

To add to your list above, there are many not-as-well-funded reliable independent journalists doing actual journalism. It’s a huge amount of work/time to keep up with all of them. Some are building new media empires, like Tim Pool with Timcast dot com & Just the News. Others write ‘stacks, like Taibbi and Greenwald; still others have Locals/Rumble & You Tube channels (Lara Logan, Ivory Hecht, Lauren Southern, Alison Morrow, Michael Yon, Chuck Holton); and still others are under umbrellas like Sharyl Attkisson with her Fullmeasure dot news arrangement with Salem Broadcasting.

Parallel media is thriving, in a way not seen since the 1970s - now all those formerly alternative outlets are part of the predator class/propaganda. And the predator class is responding by having their foot soldiers threaten lives, families, properties...with swatting and doxxing and probably other tactics.
