Our kids are in an LCMS high school and you are right, they have been fantastic. Not only on this but all the other Marxist dogma dressed up as "compassion" too. We aren't Lutheran but the LCMS are definitely our brothers and sisters in Christ. At orientation the principal stated, "at this school your children will never be taught anything contrary to God's word!". He meant it.
