Marek's isn't fatal to the flock if the flock is vaccinated. The birds live long enough to be slaughtered (which in industry birds is as quick as 4-8 weeks) so a shortened lifespan from the virus doesn't factor in.

The issue with Marek's as it applies to chickens is that unvaccinated birds die (or are doomed) basically instantly because the virus is so hot and infectious.
