I know what the Americans are up to. I know what the Chinese are up to. I think I demonstrate that on occasion in my papers. I try to stay out of politics. The Chinese leave me alone and I mostly leave them alone. I try very hard to maintain political neutrality, which is part of why I am a Druid. Or vice versa.

There has been a fair amount of back and forth between me and American companies, but they could argue I started it by embarrassing them at the 2013 ICPEN summit. Both the USA and China skipped that summit, but to China's credit they did then go ahead and self-regulate.

Both the USA and China are willing to export products they don't feel are safe for their own people. There is history there going back to the Opium Wars. It may not get settled in my lifetime. I'm not going to stop advocating for children, and given how we are running out of them, we should take them more seriously.

You can see I have to be careful not to violate my neutrality if I want to continue to be useful globally.
