Spot on Caitlin - "not people with healthy minds, with functioning empathy centers in their brains"... I literally just replied to pro-Israeli lobby who insist on obfuscating, deflecting, and demonising the only party in the Australian Parliament who will call out Israel - The Greens. Disclaimer: not my politics - but this issue is (SHOULD BE) entirely unrelated to politics - it's humanity.

The Greens recently tabled a very reasonable motion in the Senate for direct sanctions against Israeli leaders as has been proposed in other countries. They were lambasted in Parliament by both Labor and The Coalition - who conveniently ignored the matter at hand and accused them of "grandstanding", "political gain" and even calling them "extremists".

Then on Friday the CEO of a major pro-Israeli group rubbished the Greens and took the following argument (of course printed word-for-word in the Australian and echoed ad naseum Sky News):

a) expanding the Greens criticism of Israel to all of Judaism (standard operating procedure and antisemitic by the IHRA definition of antisemitism, never mind collectively inciteful).

Then with that false premise in place - "no other minority would be expected to put up with being targeted incessantly by The Greens".

Really? So proposing sanctions for Israeli leaders - who already have arrest warrants being requested of the ICC - is directly attacking all Jewish people, and hence a minority in Australia? Come on.

This is completely illogical apart from being deceptive and in-line with your comments on different mental makeup Caitlin.

b) labelling the Greens "a party of stunts, who promote division, disunity and hatred to win votes" So calling for urgent motions on humanitarian sanctions in a Parliamentary democracy is "promoting division" ... as above - who is promoting division for their (Israel's) own gain?

My reply - noting The Greens were the only party with the humanity to raise sanctions - and asking where their humanity was - got me blocked by the tone-deaf coward. It got me thinking literally about someone's mindset to interpret this way - and then I read your article.
