Sorry to have upset you. My remark about 'raising your own chickens' was typed half in jest & all in earnest. That is, it was tongue in cheek about getting around the sky-high egg prices (jest) BUT I know of quite a few locales that do allow for raising chickens in your backyard so I DO think that it is a plausible suggestion (earnest).
