Understandable, though I think if we look at one system (BTC) from the viewpoint of another system (USD) then it makes things confusing. The volatility is a feature, not a bug. I would argue that it's exactly what one would expect when a market is engaging in price-discovery. As more people understand it and adopt it, and as more capital from the other markets flows into it, price will stabilize (in terms of USD). I am more optimistic, I suppose. I think given communication technology and speed of network effects, not to mention the game theory involved with other countries adopting it and being open to it, will prevent USG from going that far. IF they DID go that far, I could move out of the country to a BTC-friendly country with just the 12-24 seed words memorized, which gives me access to my BTC.
