In the past few months I have also been contacted by several young, middle-class acquaintances in China who are trying to find a way to move to Canada, the UK or the US. I think it's a bit too early to draw conclusions, though, since I suspect a lot of it stems from temporary frustration with Zero COVID policies and the resulting economic downturn. When things get rolling again (presumably after Xi is confirmed for another term), I expect a lot of that frustration to dissipate.
