I think in the end it will be irrelevant if people from the "international community" (= US and its lackeys) will wake up or not. What matters is that the "rest" (i.e. most) of the world is waking up real fast. We're living a crucial moment in world history, and billions of people won't wait from the "first world" to catch up - it will be a fait accompli.

The only problem is that for the first time in history a crumbling empire can destroy humankind. Will they accept their fate and finally start behaving like normal countries/people? I would like to say I believe it, but I can't.

Anyway, paraphasing Marx, violence is the midwife of history, so it seems likely that there will be blood.
