Thanks. Yeah I agree that we need to talk about men's health. What I am interested in is talking about the way men tend to commodify and sexualise, and in general, treat women. I'm in Australia, and there is a lot of talk here about the number of women being killed by their male partners. It's become a big issue. We also have an ongoing dialogue, not a healthy or respectful one, about race. Our indigenous population are not as 'politically active' as African Americans seem to be.
As an aside. When I was living with my first wife and started going to uni - in the early 1980s - we could not afford to go out partyting so at a shopping mall one day my wife went to hire a TV set. I went walking cos I hate shopping. After half an hour I met up with her, and she was seriously cranky. She had filled out all the forms to get this TV and then the salesman said she should just go and get her husband to sign the agreement form. That was my first introductiuon to patriarchy.
